Section Mammalogy

Curators of the mammal collections at Munich in chronological order (the whole zoological-zootomical collection had been managed by the first three mentioned):

SPIX, Johann Baptist Ritter von (1781-1826), junior civil servant from 1810 on, curator 1811-1826. WAGLER, Johann Georg (1800-1832), junior civil servant 1820-1832.

WAGNER, Johann Andreas (1797-1861), junior civil servant from 1832 on, curator from 1849 on, 1853-1861 curator of the Paläontologischen Sammlung [Palaeontological Collection] (nowadays cited as “Bayerische Staatssammlung für Paläontologie und historische Geologie München” [„Bavarian State Collection for Palaeontology and historical Geology Munich“] , spatial and personnel seperated from the Zoological State Collection).
