X-Ray

(Micro) X-ray computed tomography device: Nanotom m (phoenix|x-ray)

The equipment permits tomographic analysis of a wide range of biogeological samples. All kinds of materials including animal soft parts and solid stones ranging from 1 to 240 mm in size can be scanned and 3D processed.

Current examples include:

  • insects – external and internal morphology
  • parasitic crustaceans
  • shells of molluscs and brachiopods
  • soft parts anatomy of molluscs and other invertebrates
  • skeletons of fish, amphibians and reptilians
  • crocodile hearts
  • jaw morphology of sharks
  • dinosaurs – morphology
