X-Ray
(Micro) X-ray computed tomography device: Nanotom m (phoenix|x-ray)
The equipment permits tomographic analysis of a wide range of biogeological samples. All kinds of materials including animal soft parts and solid stones ranging from 1 to 240 mm in size can be scanned and 3D processed.
Current examples include:
- insects – external and internal morphology
- parasitic crustaceans
- shells of molluscs and brachiopods
- soft parts anatomy of molluscs and other invertebrates
- skeletons of fish, amphibians and reptilians
- crocodile hearts
- jaw morphology of sharks
- dinosaurs – morphology
- fossil mammalians – head and tooth morphology
- crystal formation in rocks
- tropical wood
