Section Hymenoptera

1759

Foundation of the Churbavarian Acacemy of Sciencies.

1807

The Zoological und Zootomical Conservatory becomes part of the Royal Academy of Sciences.

1810

Dr. Johann Baptist Ritter von Spix (1781-1826) becomes civil servant of the Royal Academy of Sciences.

1827

Dr. Joseph Anton Maximilian Perty (1804-1884) works on the material which was collected by von Spix in South America.

1858

Dr. Josef Kriechbaumer (1819-1902) is employed as civil servant of the Academy of Sciences.

1920

Ernst Clement (1874-1969) curates parts of the Hymenoptera collection.

1939-1975

Activities of Dr. Walter Forster (1910-1986) lead to a great uplift of the Entomology Section. During this time many Hymenoptera collections were purchased.

1951-1959

Dr. Friedrich Kühlhorn (1912-1987) curates, various other collections, also the Hymenoptera collection.

1959

Dr. Franz Bachmaier (1930-1988) becomes leader of the Hymenoptera Section.

1959

Erich Diller (*1937) joins the Hymenoptera Section.

1976-1992

Prof. Dr. Ernst Josef Fittkau (*1927) is director of the Zoologische Staatssammlung als successor of Dr. Walter Forster. In 1976 Dr. Fittkau re-establishes the sections of the ZSM, including the Hymenoptera Section.

1989

Erich Diller becomes leader of the Hymenoptera Section.

1994

Dipl. Biol. Johannes Schuberth joins the Hymenopter Section.

2003

Dr. Stefan Schmidt becomes Leader of the Hymenoptera Section.
